Harry Potter, Hair, and the Magic of Elder Wood.

For two artists like Jill and Marc, the process of discovering their perfect wedding rings was much like their relationship: an organic and magical journey. Looking back on each decision that led them to Minter & Richter Designs and their unique wooden wedding rings, the couple was amazed by the hidden meaning and symbolism unconsciously captured in the final rings. As Jill said: “We didn’t find these rings, they found us!”

Rings that Embody Magic

Jill and Marc consider themselves lucky to have a number of common interests including gardening, music, cooking, and books-- especially the Harry Potter series! The couple also shares an inclination to look for hidden meaning and significance in everything and desired to find wedding rings that could embody this great magic -- no small task!

The couple shares a mutual love for the Harry Potter book series.

Rings that Encircle Romance

Originally, Marc suggested custom wooden wedding rings created out of wood native to the places they’d each grown up in. They both decided it would also be romantic to have strands of each other’s hair interlaced at the core of each ring; a symbolic circle.

When They Knew They’d Found “The Ones”

After spending many hours searching online and looking at hundred of rings, Jill and Marc stumbled onto an image of a wooden wedding ring set made by Minter & Richter Designs. They were immediately attracted to the smooth shadows and warm highlights at play in the wood, as well as the golden pinstripes framing each ring.

When they found out that the name of the ring set they loved was “Alchemist” they were both in tears! “Alchemist” had long been a favored username for Marc, and held special meaning for them both. From there all of the pieces seemed to fall in place at once:

• Jill and Marc had fallen for rings made of Golden Box Elderwood-- In the mythic world of J.K. Rowling (author of the Harry Potter series), the Elder Wand is the most powerful wand, capable of performing feats of magic beyond the realm of the impossible, such as mending another wand damaged beyond normal magical repair.
• Minter & Richter enthusiastically agreed to embed the couple’s hair beneath the wood in each ring-- In Harry Potter, the magic wands also had hair embedded within their cores!

Jill and Marc were amazed by the hidden meaning and symbolism unconsciously captured in the final rings.

Love In their Rings

Jill and Marc were thrilled to find ringmakers who could help them realize their dream of creating powerful, symbolic, Harry Potter-inspired wedding bands. They will exchange the rings at their wedding next Spring!

Their advice to other couples looking for wedding rings? “Watch, wait and expect that 'feeling' to flow over you when you find the right ones! Don't settle for 'maybe'. The ring will find you!”
